MLK Living Legacy Celebration
Description: “Everybody can be great because everybody can serve.” —Martin Luther King Jr. What better way to honor Dr. King’s legacy than by serving the community. This year the annual celebration will include a “Day of Greatness,” modeled after King’s example. A Day of Greatness includes poster making in the SUB Hatch Ballroom, 9-11 a.m., and a march down Capitol Blvd., ending with a rally on the statehouse steps featuring Boise State students as the guest speakers. When the rally concludes, several nonprofit organizations will be on hand to offer volunteering opportunities for afternoon participation. Depending on your schedule, you can participate the entire day, or maybe you only have time for the march. It doesn’t matter, because there’s enough going on all day to get involved. What does matter is that you get out and do something. Make a difference. Serve your community. MLK Living Legacy Celebration Annual March/Rally and a new Day of Greatness 9:00 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2012
